Bristol Sauceboats

A Bristol butter boat 1775-81.  Its length is 4.1 inches (10.4).  It is marked with an X.

A Bristol cream boat, moulded in "Chelsea Ewer" form, 1775-81.  Its length is 4.8 inches (12.2 cm).  Marked with an X.  This is a very rare form in Bristol porcelain.

A Bristol butter boat (or cream boat) 1775-81.  It is marked witn an incised X, which is unusual.

A Bristol sauceboat, 1775-81.  The length is 6.6 inches (16.8 cm).  It is marked with the crossed swords mark, and shows signs of where it was moulded from two pieces.  It was formerly in the Peter Stephens collection.

A Bristol moulded suaceboat 1775-81.  Its length is 6.4 inches (16.3 cm).  It is unmarked. 

Bristol butter boat, c1775-81. The length is 5.1 inches (12.9 cm).  It is a moulded shape, decorated with floral sprays. It is marked with X 14.  See Hurlbutt (plate 27b) for a similar shape.
